There's something to be said for stepping out of your fashion comfort zone.
I mean, fashion is such a wonderful way to try something different, creative and fun because, at the end of the day, it's just clothes. You take them off, give 'em a wash, and start anew tomorrow!
So this week I tried two looks like aren't part of my usual wheelhouse - and I really dug both of them.
For the first look, I'm not usually a pop-your-collar kind of gal. When I saw this look that Brighton put together, though? I was SO drawn to it! I loved how these three staple neutrals, navy, black, and cognac, paired so nicely together.
In the second look, I love me a good plaid but I don't usually do the full-tuck. I was pleasantly surprised at how slimming this combo ended up being! I think the monochromatic color scheme also helped in that department. Still, I really enjoyed this inspiration from Emily's blog and giving this a try.
In other news, I am sadly very under the weather.
I spent a good chunk of the weekend stuck in bed, as I try to rest and kick this terrible cold. Last year, I was so sick Thanksgiving weekend so I'm doing all I can to avoid a repeat. Wish a gal luck!
