Tori's Pretty Weekly Wrapping - Texas Sunshine and Spring Smiles

Oh hey! Happy Friday :)  How was your week?

I can safely walk into the weekend with a big ole smile!

I've got a  mind full of new marketing knowledge and a heart full of first-time Texas experiences, after spending a few days at a healthcare conference in Austin.

I don't talk about my day job often here (something's I just like to keep to myself.) I will say, though, that it's really rewarding to work in the healthcare tech industry. I feel good to end each work day feeling like we're working toward making a difference.

As for the traveling that I'm lucky enough to get to do? This was my first time in Texas and I loved it!

In fact, I'm still riding high on that southern sunshine and warm spring air. So I'll keep this intro short and sweet.

Let's get into wrapping up this week!

This Week's Pretty Nails:

Do you ever see other bloggers using fashion as home décor? Maybe a Jimmy Choo or Louis Vuitton strategically placed on a shelf, to enjoy those items even when they’re not using them?

I’ve told you about my polish stash before. So the other day it dawned on me – Why not use that same logic for my polish collection?!

I took an empty hurricane glass, filled it with a few springtime shades, and now a happy little pop of color lives on my desk to brighten each work day :).

When I picked those springtime shades, Essie’s In the Cab-ana was a no-brainer addition. The more I looked at it, the more it screamed, “Wear me, wear me!”

So, naturally, I did J

This all Essie mani is formula perfection! I forgot just how easy and buttery In the Cab-ana is. Two easy coats and we were at bright blue opacity!

Getting Groovy is fairly new, an addition from the 2016 holiday collection. I love the bright gold shimmer and it applied beautifully for the arrow accents.

Those nail vinyls? You need to scoop them up! What’s up Nails hit it out of the ballpark with these cute arrows. They’re easy to peel, easy to place, and made a cute mani easy to achieve.

This Week's Pretty Makeup:

Okay, okay. So this mayyyy be from a few weeks ago when B and I celebrated his 30th in New York. But when you totally nail your makeup, you have to share it, right? J

For this look, I used a mini Tarte Palette that came in the larger 2015 holiday palette. You guys, keep your eyes peeled for a palette like this!

With 6 eyeshadows, a blush, a bronzer, and a highlight, it’s the only palette I bring anymore when I travel. (This also coming from a gal who consistently travels with a “just in case!” pile!)

While this specific palette is sold out, I can’t recommend Tarte products enough. Their Lights Camera Lashes mascara is an all-time favorite. Their Amazonian clay blushes are excellent. Their shadows are pigmented and blendable.

If you haven’t tried Tarte, then go get yourself to a Sephora and try a swatch or two J

This Week's Pretty City:

Lately, I’m all smiles at all the spring just springing up across the city!

I love celebrating the seasons, and for the first time in my life, I feel like I’m getting a real spring.

In New York, you get two weeks of beautiful weather sandwiched between the ice-cold parka freeze and the scorching stinky-garbage heat.

In Toronto, there are weeks and weeks of pleasant cool weather – with a few wool jacket, jean jacket, and rain jacket days all intermixed.

This combo makes for some of the prettiest tree and flower blooms! So I’m happily indulging in (and photographing) it all J

This Week's Pretty Life:

Like I was telling you, I spent the early part of my week at a healthcare marketing conference with two of my colleagues in Austin, Texas.

First off, all the yay for such great team building and bonding time! I don't realize when I'm working from home just how much I miss the people I work with :).

We spent most of our time in sessions, but we soaked in as much sun and culture as we could in the bit of downtime we had!

We explored the s Capitol building, took in the many monuments lining the property, and enjoyed some of the downtown eats.

I learned a TON about the current state and future goals of healthcare marketing (and I'm SO excited to implement so much of it!)

But I'll be honest - it was a nice added bonus to check off another state in my mental travel map and enough some (mostly humidity free) warm weather.

You know what else a few days in warmer weather did?

Remind me how unprepared my closet it for them!

So I scooped up a couple new summer sandals to get that party started J

Both the wedges and flat sandals are from Target.

I’ll admit – it’s tough ordering from Target in Canada! But I still saved myself a few bucks, even with the international shipping, compared to the higher end versions of both.

Both are superrr comfy and really on trend! I have a feeling both pairs will be tagging along for this our summer vacation in Greece ;).

Ever noticed how I wrap up each post with, “What’s Next on the Agenda?”

Well, that’s because I’m in a long-term committed relationship with mine. (It’s getting serious. I think I found The One.)

I’m a loyal Erin Condren Life Planner and am so pumped that the 2017-2018 released are here! I geek out hard on her products. The coils, color schemes, and paper? #HeartEyeStatus

While I’m deciding on my 2018 customization choices, I figured it was time to let you in on another one of my gazillion creative outlets: Scrapbook planning!

 (#Rest? #What’sRest?)

I know, I know.  I’m pretty sure I know how to find the most obscure hobbies and dedicate hours of my time to it. Hey, that makes me unique, right? J

Scrapbook planning takes my simple (and boring) daily to-do list and lets me turn it into a beautiful scrapbook spread like this!

There’s a whole Etsy and Facebook community dedicated to this hobby. This video can explain the concept way better than I can.

Stay tuned because you’ll be seeing more of these spreads, as I scratch my scrapbooking and organizational itches. #TypeAwesome

Speaking of my agenda, what’s coming up?

First, there’s an exciting weekend of double dates with a breakfast on Saturday and a trip to The Islands on Sunday.

Then next week? My first (and hopefully only!) root canal, womp womp L

Most importantly, lots of loving time with B – after 3 days away, I just can’t help but miss him! I guess after 4 and ½ years though, that’s probably a good thing J

That's a Wrap on Another Pretty Week!
