My mind feels in a rush this week.

B and I are doing something next week that never felt risky in pre-COVID times - we've decided to travel to go on vacation.

I'll preface this that we are so, so grateful to be in a physical health position and financial position to even be able to make this choice. So many people lost their livelihood, lost their day-to-day health, and lost their lives to the pandemic. I'm in a fortunate position to be gainfully employed and in full physical health to even be considering a vacation, let alone actually taking one.

Yet, I know I'm not alone in the toll that the pandemic is taking on our mental health. My husband and I needed to make the right choice for us, that factors in our safety and the safety of those around us. That  means travelling as safely as we can to a place where the COVID cases are very low.

To find a place with very low cases, we feel we need to travel by plane to a place that's requiring a heath visa - for our own safety and considering the safety of others.

What was once a routine that B and I had down pat, due to our constant Toronto to US travel, now includes layer after layer of new safety precautions. I believe that the safety precautions are important and I want to do everything in my power to follow them!

So my mind is in a rush this week - figuring out how to fill in the puzzle pieces of safety alongside the already-stressful process of airplane travel.

Will it be worth it? I sure hope so!

But until then, let's jump into this past week...

What I’m Buying

I'm not buying a ton this week since we're about to go on vacation. The last couple of purchases I made were for our trip, scooping up thisthisthisthis, and this for our upcoming travels.

I'm still "sitting on" on my chair purchase until September (see what I did there? 🤣). The more I think about it, the more I'm excited to buy it! (Read more about my chair saga here.)

I'll also make a confessions - I'm slightly obsessed with Slime videos on Instagram lol! They have that ASMR quality that is just so soothing. So I've got this in my Amazon cart and I'm not ashamed to admit it!

What I Recently Bought

If you read my last post, you know I did some major shopping during the Insider access of the N Sale!

So far, this, this and this came in and here are my thoughts:
I already owned these but I'm pretty positive I had the wrong size because I found them very uncomfortable, even though my favorite bloggers rave about them. I sized up during the sale and I like them a lot more now!

I'm obsessed with how soft this is and can't wait to make so many cute fall and winter outfits with it!

I'm on the fence about these. I like the texture and they feel like they'll be very warm. They're a little loose in the crotch and waist, but if I size down then they'll be too tight in the leg. My hubs says they look normal and nice so I might keep them. TBD!

This Week's Seasonal Celebrations

I celebrated August by:

*Wear my August seasonal lip shade, Coral ✔️
(Love this and this shade!)
*Middle Child Day - August 12th ✔️
*Left Handers Day - August 13th ✔️
(I am, in fact, a middle child and a lefty!)
*N Sale Insider Access - August 13th ✔️
(See some of what I scooped up here!)
*Listen to my Summer Playlist ✔️
*Relaxation Day - August 15th ✔️
(I'm terrible at relaxing but I did take a bath so I count it lol!)
Painted a weekly, seasonal mani  ✔️
* Burned a summer-scented candle ✔️
(I'm still burning this but it gave B a headache so back to the drawing board?)

Reading Right Now

I just finished The Happiness Project the morning that I'm writing this! I really enjoyed it and added 4 more of her books to my GoodReads To-Read list.

I'm ready for something a lot lighter and a lot quicker so I'm going to start Hey Ladies. The reviews are mixed but I'm thinking if I go into this read knowing it's a spoof of a typical "Hey Gals!" group email/chat, I'll really enjoy it.

Watching Right Now

I'm still making my way through my 50 Summer Under the Stars DVR'd classics!

This week, I watched Cover Girl and started The Getaway

LOVED Cover Girl! I feel like it's such an underrated musical that should be as loved as An American in Paris (which is a film I feel just "meh" about, tbh.)

B and I are about 1/2 way through The Getaway and I'm excited to finish watching it this week.

Unrelated, B and I are also slowly making our way through all of the James Bond films and we watched On Her Majesty's Secret Service. I really enjoyed George Lazenby as Bond and thought the story was pretty solid. Some parts dragged but it was fun to see Bond in a winter setting.

I'm also still enjoying RHOBH and RHONY because, you know, we all need a little junk food TV now and then lol.

Loving Right Now

All of these wonderful creative outlets sparking joy in my life!

I'm really enjoying blogging and Instagram-ing consistently again. I'm really enjoying making printable creations for my my little Etsy shop. I'm really enjoying learning how to make Reels

I'm having a lot of fun in what's a very stressful and sad year so I'm very, very thankful for these creative outlets.

Thanks for stopping by today 😀
