Hello!
I'm tired. That "deep in your bones, can't get rest even when I try because my brain won't turn off" kind of tired.
It happens to the best of us, right?
It's been two months of non-stop busy at work, super busy with major life decisions at home, and a general constant worry about COVID and the election. I guess it makes sense that I'm tired lol?
The funny part is that I even tried to prevent the burn out by scheduling a PTO day, but ended up spending that whole day focused on the major and super exciting life decision that B and I are working on... (More to come on that in future blog posts but no, it's 100% not a baby!)
I really don't see life slowing down anytime soon. So it's all about finding pockets of time when we can and giving ourselves grace, right?
I took a relaxing bubble bath last night and that helped. I'm hoping to enjoy some reading before bed tonight. I'm looking forward to putting the Christmas decorations up early (either this weekend or next) and enjoying the holiday light glow.
I also have to be okay with not completing my to-do list. An uncompleted to-do list doesn't mean I'm a failure, even when my Type A mind begs to differ lol! Plus, it'll help if I spend time focused on the 70-80% that I did accomplished compared to the 20-30% that I didn't.
It's all easier said than done but I'm trying and that counts for something.
Are you struggling with burn out season too? Lemme know any tips you have in the comments!
In the meantime, let's jump into last week's recap...
What I Bought
I mentioned the other week that I've been eyeing up and narrowing down my Holiday 2020 nail polish picks to add to my collection.
This past week, I scooped up my faves from China Glaze's Jollywood collection. I'm excited to get these shades in a few days!: This, This, This, This, This, and This.
It's also time to scoop up my holiday scents from Bath and Body Works. I have super dry skin in the winter so I grabbed this, this, this, and this! I also scooped up this candle and this one.
Last Week's Buys - Yay or Nay?
All of my fun sweaters came in and I'm so excited!
This sweater is SUPER soft and really cozy. I feel like my goals of comfortable and chic are achieved!
I also wore this, this, this, and this over the last week. This looks so much better in person than it does in the online product photo. I'd go as far as saying it's my favorite color-block pattern of the season!
This and this came in too. They're both bigger than I expected them to be but they're so stinkin' pretty. I'm really excited to put them out!
This garland also arrived and I am kicking myself because they went on extreme sale two days after I bought em! Ugh!
I can't say too much about it yet because I've only gone as far as taking it out of the box to make sure it was right. Stay tuned!

Reading Right Now
I haven't done much reading this past week. I usually like to read a bit before bed but most of last week, my head hit the pillow and I was OUT!
I'm hoping to do a bit more reading of this one. From the little bit I've read, it's really well written and capturing my attention so far.
Watching Right Now
Is anyone else super ecstatic that Supermarket Sweep is back? lol
I used to love this show and I'm so excited to see it back in action!
B and I just finished season 4 of The Sopranos. Wow, was that finale intense! The writers and actors did a fantastic job of taking a complicated family dynamic and adding enough nuance that it was so painfully relatable.
My hubs and I are also enjoying The Masked Singer. The only person we guessed right was Busta Rhymes so far lol. I love the music aspect and the guessing game aspect of the show.
Listening to Right Now
It's time to bid adieu to my Halloween playlist and say Hello to my Thanksgiving playlist!
I also will 100% own that I start listening to Christmas music once Halloween is over. I am definitely THAT person lol!
Enjoying Right Now
Speaking of Christmas, I'm enjoying the first Chicago flurries! I love snow, cold weather, and all things that let me bundle up and get cozy 😍.
Snow hasn't stuck to the ground yet but there were a couple of days where we had a few hours of flurries and they were so beautiful.
