Hello!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

How was your last week of 2020? B and I kicked off the week by closing on our very first home! I'm so thrilled to finally say that we are homeowners!

I don't dream about a lot of the things that women are taught to dream about. I never dreamt about a wedding. (Which made planning our wedding was a struggle every step of the way! lol) I don't dream about being a mom. (No shade to anyone who does! I just don't feel that pull.) Yet, I've always dreamt about owning a home to call our own. Walls that we can paint. Space that we can buy furniture specifically for. Most importantly, stability and a space that becomes home when everything else is unpredictable.

So that was a pretty wonderful way to start the week, if I do say so myself! :)

I can also now share that I'm starting a new job in the new year. Another exciting step to this new chapter! After 6 years and 7 months, it was time to close the chapter at my current company and start 2021 on a new adventure. I'm excited, nervous, and ready to take this next step in my life!

With all of these wonderful new journeys on the horizon, let's talk about last week's recap!

What I Bought

Last week was all about preparing and enjoying the holidays, so I only scooped up these acne patches. They were in my most recent FabFitFun box and OMG are they making such a positive difference in my skin!

They helped me to realize that part of what creates havoc on my skin is that I'm a chronic picker. So using these suckers (literally) at night, to suck out all of the gunk has been a game changer!

During my nighttime routine, I just stick one of these on any active acne I have. I wear it overnight and then peel it off in the morning. They have that gross-but-satisfying effect of pore strips where you can see any gunk pulled out and into the patch.

If there's no gunk left, I don't pick. When I don't pick, my skin looks and feels better. Win!

They're a little on the pricy side but a worthwhile investment to have clearer skin.

Last Week's Buys - Yay or Nay?

I didn't buy anything of note to fill you in on, and just continue to daydream about future furniture purchases!

Reading Right Now

I finally finished this and my verdict is that I ultimately loved it! I think I was so wrapped up in my real-life stress that I didn't give this book a fair shake.

After seeing the whole story come together, I really enjoyed each sister and the story of facing their past challenges to bring them closer to their Mom and closer to each other.

All in all, I'd give it a 9 out of 10 and recommend the read if you're still in the festive spirits.

Watching Right Now

We finished  Empires of New York on CNBC and thought it was really good!

We're all still plugging away at The Last Dance on Netflix. Still loving it! I also started Sinatra: All or Nothing At All because we know that I'm an Old Hollywood Stan lol.

As far as movies go, B and I watched Elf from start to finish for the first time in a few years. We both forgot how funny it is, and just how much better it is when you watch it all the way through (compared to picking up pieces of it on TV like we have over the last few years.

Listening to Right Now

Who are we kidding - Christmas may be over but I'm still listening to Christmas music until the clock strikes 2021 😂.

Here are a few classics that fit this in-between time if you're still feeling festive too:

This song because it's so jazzy and cozy. Plus, did you know this was originally written as a song for Thanksgiving?!

This song because it's works anytime during the winter.

This song because.. Bing! It's such a classic!

This song because I love finding smaller artists to listen to and support during this time of year.

Enjoying Right Now

All of the new changes on the horizon! I'd be lying if I didn't say that a part of me is nervous. Moving and new jobs always bring a bit of nerves and stress, right?

But I'm more excited about the new chapter on the horizon!

I hope that you and your family have a wonderful and safe 2021! Cheers!

Thanks for stopping by today 😀
