You'll notice a theme in my blogs and Instaposts this week; I've got Summer on one shoulder, Fall on the other, and I can't figure out who to listen to.

My Fall shoulder says, "Make your Fall playlist! Listen to Jazz! Use Pumpkin Spice Coffee Creamer! Wear your new cardigan(s)!"

My Summer shoulder says, "You'll be cooped up so soon! Eat on patios! Sunbathe on your roof deck! Get that fish taco with the mango salsa!"

I don't hide it: I love cold weather. I function better wearing a sweater and drinking a hot coffee. I'm that weirdo friend who says, "I love the cold!" when you're complaining about wearing your winter coat. I'm that girl.

Yet, I can't be the only one a little scarred from this past Spring, am I?

I'm struggling with the thought of going inside with limited interaction again. I'm sad to think that outdoor dining possibilities dramatically decline over these next two months. I already dread January. The Fall and December holidays make everything sparkle... but then what? #RealThoughtsOfAnAnxiousMind

I guess it's not really helping me to worry about how I'll feel in four months time. There are so many what if's and could be's between today and New Year's Day. Maybe putting it out here, though, we can all be a little worried together and feel a little less alone.

For the moment, I'm just going to take a deep breath, take a big old drink of water, and focus on the here and now.

Or at least the here and last week 😀 So let's get into the recap...

What I’m Buying

Is there anything better than starting September with a fresh, new planner? Ahhhhhhh 😍
I have a separate Insta account for my love of all things Erin Condren and planner related. (Hi, I'm Tori, I'm a sucker for very niche hobbies. Nice to meet you lol.)

I'm a true Stan for my EC Weekly Vertical Life Planner. Yet, lately i'm finding the need for a daily planner to keep all of my work, home, and hobby to-dos time blocked. So I scooped up this and this.

I bought this first but accidentally shipped it to Canada. 😿. (Thankfully, the new tenants of our old apartment were SO kind and shipped it to my new US address!)

While I was waiting for that to arrive, I was #Influenced and decided to scoop this up. For now, I'm going to test out the two and see which better fits my time-blocking needs. I'm thinking this will be great for my workday needs and this will be better for my weekend/personal needs. We'll see!

I also added this and this to my Fall nail polish collection. I don't have anything like this in my current collection so I'm excited to try it! I do have lots of shades like this in my current collection but what's one more lol?

What I Recently Bought

This book came in and I can't wait to read it! It's always a little weird when your current read is a coffee table book 🤷 but I'm excited to learn more about this magnificent jewelry collection.

This also came in and it's already come in handy. Sometimes I just need to keep warm when the AC blows too strong in my office, but the shared duct doesn't keep my husband's workspace nearly as cold. If that isn't like being in a true office than I just don't know what is lol

This Week's Seasonal Celebrations

I celebrated August and September by:

*My best friend's birthday! - August 31st ✔️

*Burn a Fall scented candle ✔️
(I'm finishing up this but I feel like it works year-round.)

*Weekly wear my September lip shade, Mauve
(I had a hard time getting back into the swing of things after vacation. So I didn't wear makeup this past week.)

*Create my 2020 Fall Playlist ✔️

*Paint a weekly, seasonal mani ✔️

*Swap in Fall body wash and lotion ✔️

* Skyscraper Day - Sept 3rd ✔️

*my best friend's wedding day! - Sept 6th ✔️
(Sadly, I couldn't physically be there due to NJ travel restrictions but my heart was there!)

Reading Right Now

I'm  about 1/2 way through this and man, I understand why it's commonly considered an American classic! Even though I haven't seen the movie, I keep picturing Gregory Peck at Atticus and that's helping even more to bring the story to life.

I have to say that I'm glad that I'm reading this as an adult and not a teenager. I would have too closely seen situations from Scout's perspective at that time than from Atticus's age. I feel I would have really missed out on so much, if that was the case. So I would highly recommend giving this a re-read as an adult, if you were also close to Scout's age than to Atticus's age when you read it.

Watching Right Now

I'm catching up on the shows I DVR'ed while we were away. So this is my solid guilty pleasure right now lol. I'm also HERE for the RHOBH and RHONY reunions!

I checked off Pal Joey as I continue to make my way through the classics from Summer Under the Stars that I DVR'd. Overall, I enjoyed it and thought it was a really cute film! Kim Novack's character was a little too weak/underwhelming for my taste but the Rogers and Hart music 1000% made up for that.

Listening to Right Now

Basically, from September 1st to January 1st, I stop listening to most (oftentimes all!) modern music and indulge my love for the great american songbook of standards and jazz classics.

Ella is my favorite singer of all time! I love Frank, Louie, Nat, Bing, and Billie. I love Harry Connick Jr, Michael Buble, Natalie Cole, and Tony Bennett.

So right now I'm really enjoying this song, this one, this one, and this one.

Loving Right Now

This wonderful week that started out with one best friend's birthday ended with another's wedding! How lucky we are to love and be loved this week 💓

Thanks for stopping by today 😀
